Are there any dangers from unlocking my phone?

No, there is no chance that unlocking a phone will cause any damage to it, and there is nothing stopping you from unlocking your own phone. Unlocking a phone remotely by obtaining the code is a safe way to unlock it, and there is no software or cable involved that could affect your phone⿿s operation. However, due to the protective measures that are built into the phone, if you enter the unlock code incorrectly 5 times, then this will prevent the unlock code from working. This is not destructive, but it will mean that it will take specialist software and a cable to unlock the phone (all the more reason to be careful when tapping in the unlock code!).

After you have unlocked your phone, it stays unlocked permanently.
