I cannot get the phone to switch on. It has been on the charger for ages and just won’t turn on. What can we do?

Hi Lidia,
I am not sure if you have just bought this phone, or whether you have had it for some time? If this is a new phone then I would simply return it to the store where you bought it, and get them to test it or replace it for you.
As this is a fairly drastic failure it should only have one of 3 possible causes I think: either the charger is faulty, the phone is faulty, or possibly the battery has failed.
One easy check is to make sure that the charging icon scrolls up and down on the phone’s screen while the charging process is taking place. If there is no indication of charging then try disconnecting the charging connector from the phone for a few seconds, and then plugging it in again. If there is still no indication on the phone’s screen, then something has failed and you will need to have the phone and charger checked to see where the fault lies. It is impossible to advise you about this without, say, trying a new battery or charger.
If the phone appears to be fully charged but will not switch on, then I think the fault is likely to lie in the phone itself.
However, my advice is to get the phone and charger checked out by a local service agent, or the store where you bought the phone.
