I am to visit Singapore, New Zealand & Bangkok shortly. I need to know whether I need a tri/quad band phone or whether my dual band phone will suffice. Thank you in advance for your help.
Your website has a wealth of information but does not include a band listing for various countries

Hi there,
As you may know, the 4 GSM frequency bands used worldwide are:
850 MHz
900 MHz
1800 MHz
1900 MHz
I am not sure which type of dual band phone you have, as they can be different in various parts of the world, for example they will be:
900 + 1800 in the UK
850 + 1900 in the USA
In the places you intend to visit the main network frequencies are:
900 + 1800 in Singapore
900 + 1800 in Bangkok
900 in New Zealand
Therefore, if you have a 900/1800 dual band phone, then you should have no problems using it in these countries.
We could put this information on the Mobile Phone Directory, but it would involve quite a lot of work, and the information is readily available on the official GSM Association website. The GSM Association site gives full details of all the available network frequencies used (and their coverage in each country). You can check this out for yourself at: www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/index.shtml
So I hope I have answered your question, and if we can be of any more help then please get back to us.
Best wishes for your trip!!
