Hi Liam,
I am not completely familiar with the Sagem myV-55, but I believe it is possible to transfer your pictures from the phone to a laptop computer. It is certainly possible to transfer them in the opposite direction, and so I see no reason why this should not work. You should be aware that your phone can transfer pictures and data using the phone's infrared port, or alternatively you can use a data cable (either a USB or serial cable, which is usually available as an optional accessory - i.e. you have to buy it).
If you look in the User Guide for the phone, under the Section headed 'Exchange of data with a PC', it says the following:
Working from a PC, you can save/edit contacts, events and tasks stored in your phone. To do this, you will need:
- either to connect your phone to the PC by means of a suitable data cable (serial or USB),
- or to use the infrared function on your phone (please refer to the Connectivity paragraph in the Settings Chapter).
Next, you will have to install the Wellphone software supplied on the CD with your phone or available from www.wellphone.com . This software will also enable you to save your contacts, events and tasks by means of copy/paste. If a call comes in during an exchange of data with your PC, the link will be interrupted and will have to be manually re-started.'
The reference to the Connectivity Chapter in the above extract refers to the Section below, which is headed 'Serial speed':
This menu is used to configure the data exchange mechanism with another device (Personal Digital Assistant, PC, etc.). You may:
- send or receive images, sounds etc either using a different compatible mobile phone or from a PC installed with 'My Pictures and Sounds' (available from www.planetsagem.com), or
- exchange contacts, events and tasks with your PC by means of the Wellphone synchronisation software (page 51).
The Serial speed menu enables you to select the speed to be used for the data exchange via your phone's serial port. Except for specific requirements, it is advisable to stick to the default setting: Automatic.'
And it seems to be pretty certain that you can save pictures from the phone to the computer because under the 'Camera' section of the User manual it says:
NB: pictures that have been taken can be saved onto a PC using the MPAS (My Pictures And Sounds) utility which can be downloaded from www.planetsagem.com.'
So, I hope I have answered your question that it is possible to transfer your pictures from the phone to the laptop. However, you will have to install the necessary file(s) onto the computer, so that it can talk to your phone (the file should be contained on the CD-ROM that comes with the phone). If you do not have the CD-ROM then you will have to download the file from the SAGEM website at www.planetsagem.com
Good luck transferring your pictures, and let me know if I can be of any more help.
