Error in technical details

Subject: Error in technical details of Sony Ericsson T230

The phone Sony Ericsson T230 does not have a built-in modem as shown on your website. I checked it out on Sony Ericsson's website. Please confirm this and correct it.

Thank you for your message.

We are very aware of the possibility that errors will creep into the technical details we publish on the Mobile Phone Directory, and we hate to think that there is anything inaccurate on our pages. We take our information from several sources, and we often come across errors on other websites, including those of retailers and even the manufacturers themselves. The quality of information from manufacturers does vary greatly, with some being very good and some very poor in the details. When it is not clear, we would rather omit a detail than publish something inaccurate.

I thought that the T230 did have a built-in modem, and I was beginning to think that Sony Ericsson had made a mistake on their website, until I did some cross-checking of the information. All I can say is that we were not alone in getting it wrong, as there are several other sites that claim the T230 has a built-in modem, even including the British Telecom site - check it out at: www.bt.com/homeplan/handset_details.jsp?handsetOID=287069&obsOID=287069&vStore=1360&obsPage=/homeplan/handset_list.jsp&obsType=PRODUCT

So, I apologise to you that we have not been entirely accurate, and I will remove that detail from the phone.

On your other comment, I am pleased to hear that you have found our site useful, as the content on our site does represent a lot of hard work. However, we will be making improvements to the site over the next weeks and months, and I hope you will find it gets even better.
