Network Colour Code

Also known as: NCC

Network Colour Code (NCC) is a 3-bit code broadcast as part of the BSIC (Base Station Identity Code). The NCC is used to distinguish between operators who utilise the same frequencies. This will be important when a subscriber moves near to the boundary between two areas, where there are two different operators who have each been allocated the same frequency or set of frequencies.
