QVGA
Skip contentAlso known as: Quarter VGA, Quarter Video Graphics Array
QVGA (Quarter Video Graphics Array) is a standard for displays and cameras that measures 320 pixels wide by 240 pixels high. Although QVGA is generally only found on Series 80 handsets and some high-end Series 60 phones, it is a very modest resolution for a digital camera, and at a tiny 0.08 megapixels, QVGA picture quality - although better than CIF - won’t be particularly good.
QVGA is however an excellent resolution to use for sending digital pictures via MMS or e-mail, as the image files will be small in bytes - saving on bandwidth - but easily big enough in pixels for enjoyable viewing on another handset.
An even smaller version of QVGA is QQVGA.
