Motorola C651 mobile phone

Motorola C651 is a tri-band candy bar styled cameraphone, which is suitable for global roaming. This is an exclusive Virgin Mobile handset, and amongst its capabilities are some of those features that are becoming increasingly essential in the modern handset. The C651’s features include its integrated GPRS and WAP technology, MMS multimedia messaging, a MPEG4 player, speakerphone for hands-free conversation, Java™ enabled, voice control, and a selection of polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

Motorola C651The display in the C651 is a colour LCD screen with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, which can show up to 5 lines of text and 1 line of icons, and this display is capable of reproducing 65,536 different colours. The display provides you with the definition and colour necessary to appreciate the quality of pictures you send and receive on this phone, and it is possible to communicate pictures in MMS messages or to e-mail addresses. As with many other MMS enabled phones, this model can exchange MMS messages that contain a combination of text and video clips, images, animations, and sounds.

There is an integrated VGA quality digital camera in the C651, and you have the option to select the resolution you use from a choice of 3 image qualities: 160 x 120, 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 pixels. This camera provides 4x digital zoom, a choice of automatic or 4 set levels of exposure, a photo editor capable of adding some special effects, and a timer is also available to help with the taking self-portraits.

With its ability to play MPEG4 video clips, you are able to download video clips with the micro-browser, and to send and receive video clips in multimedia messages. An increasingly diverse range of material is now available in video clip form, and this covers many popular interests, meaning that you can download these clips if you want to see some sporting highlight, news story, movie trailer, or music video.

When the coloured event lights are activated, using the colours you select, the C651 displays a light pattern to notify you of events such as an incoming call, text, MMS or voicemail. If you wish, you can also use these coloured lights to act as rhythm lights, flashing in time to music or other sounds in the surrounding area.

There is also the opportunity to personalise this phone by using the downloadable Themes, i.e. co-ordinated sets of animated screensavers, wallpapers and ringtones. Of course, you may choose to use your own pictures, animations and sounds, or to download alternatives from various Web pages. You can even create your own ringtones using the MotoMixer™ ringtone creator, which remixes preset sound file tracks made up of 4 instruments such as piano, bass, drums, and guitar; you can download new sound files to create new combinations.

Being Java™ enabled, the C651 is capable of running a range of Java applications and games. The phone comes with two games preloaded, although you can download more games, as well as new applications, when you feel the need to try something new.

With its integrated GPRS technology this phone gives you fast data speeds and rapid access to the network services. This also means that you get an “always on” connection, where you pay for the amount of data you actually use rather than the time you are on the network. With the phone’s WAP feature, and its micro-browser, you are in a position to access and search the mobile Internet, and to identify any information and services that you need.

Connectivity to the C651 is provided in the form of a mini USB connector, which allows you to link up to a compatible PC or PDA and to transfer files, data, videos, pictures and sounds, etc. You can also synchronise the personal information in your schedule or phonebook by using this USB connection.

The C651 has several organiser features, including a calendar, clock, alerts, calculator, and currency converter. The phone also has a vibration alert option, and the iTap™ predictive text input software.
