Motorola V80 mobile phone

Motorola V80 is a tri-band mobile phone suitable for worldwide use. The phone has an unusual body form, being constructed in two parts: a larger main section containing the keypad, and a thinner cover section that holds the permanently exposed display. When you wish to use the phone a spring-loaded mechanism rotates the display section by up to 180 degrees in a circular motion, and this motion exposes the alphanumeric keypad underneath. This design concept was previously used on Motorola’s V70 model.

Motorola V80The Motorola V80 has some advanced features, including its built-in wireless Bluetooth™ technology, GPRS and WAP capability, playback of video clips, voice memo recorder, Java™ enabled, MMS multimedia messaging capability, voice control, and a choice of polyphonic ringtones. The V80 has the capability to playback MPEG4 video, and this is a useful feature for those who wish to download video clips and so keep in touch with the latest news, sport, movie trailers, or music videos.

The colour display on the Motorola V80 is a large TFT type of LCD screen with a high resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, and this screen can support up to 65,536 different colours The rotating screen also stops at the 90 degrees point to use the screen in landscape view, and when fully open it is ideal for viewing portrait style pictures.

You can use the pictures you take with the camera by incorporating them into MMS messages combined with sound, graphics or text, and you can then send these to your contacts.

Also a feature of this phone are its coloured event lights, which illuminate the outer edge of the phone with different colours (which you can select) to indicate when you get an incoming call, text, MMS or voicemail. When you want to select the option, these coloured lights can also act as rhythm lights, flashing in time to music or other sounds in the surrounding area. The phone can be personalised in other ways, by downloading new animated screensavers, wallpapers and ringtones to match your changing moods.

The Motorola V80 is Java™ enabled and so is capable of running a wide range of Java games and applications. There are 3 games preloaded in the phone, although more games and applications can be downloaded when you wish to change them.

With the phone’s browser you are able to search for WAP sites that interest you, and to download any information that you need. There is also an integrated e-mail client, which offers you full e-mail facilities and support for the standard POP3, SMTP and IMAP4 protocols.

The Motorola V80 is capable of wireless connectivity via its integrated Bluetooth™ technology, and this enables you to link up and exchange files and data with compatible computers, PDAs or other mobile phones within a 10-metre range. If you need to link up with a PC via a cable connection, then USB and serial cable options are supported, and you will then be able to synchronise your personal files, or to exchange data between devices.
