Nokia 6820 mobile phone

Nokia 6820 is a tri-band cameraphone for worldwide use. As in the Nokia 6800, this phone looks like a candy bar style model, and the handset can actually be used in this form. However, the front section of the mobile phone opens up and folds back through 180 degrees to reveal a QWERTY keyboard split on either side of the central screen.

Nokia 6820Useful feature of the 6820 include its Bluetooth™ connectivity, speakerphone for hands-free conversations, voice memo recorder, capability to record and playback video, MMS messaging, voice control, Java™ enabled, GPRS and WAP technology, and support for multitasking. The 6820 has a passive matrix LCD screen with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, which supports up to 65,536 colours.

Opening the QWERTY keyboard causes the direction of the text on the phone’s display to rotate through 90 degrees, so that it matches the orientation of the keyboard in this new position. The QWERTY keyboard is useful for typing long text messages and e-mails, and is faster and easier to use than the standard keypad with predictive text input, although this can still be used if preferred.

With the Nokia 6820 you can receive, edit and send MMS messages with text, audio files, voice clips, video clips and images to compatible MMS phones. So you can take a picture with the integrated digital camera, add text and sound (record your own voice if you like), and send it as an MMS to your friends.

Being Java™ enabled the Nokia 6820 can run both Java games and applications, and more of these are available for downloading as you need them. In addition, this phone has the latest EDGE technology on board, and so you can move information about more quickly using the GPRS and HSCSD data transfer systems. With the WAP and XHTML browser the phone also gives fast access to the mobile Internet and Web-based services.

The Nokia 6820 has good data connectivity with compatible devices such as PCs, PDAs and other mobile phones, and is easily linked up via Bluetooth™, infrared or data cable connections, so that you are able to exchange files, or to synchronise your personal data. This phone also provides a full mobile e-mail messaging system, as it supports the standard e-mail protocols of POP3, IMAP4 and STMP, as well as the BlackBerry corporate e-mail service.

With its full function QWERTY keyboard, digital camera, mobile email, MMS, SMS, and Instant Messaging, Nokia call the Nokia 6820 a “messaging device”, as it provides the tools you need for good communications.
