Nokia 7200 mobile phone

Nokia 7200 is a dual band cameraphone and the first clamshell style handset to be produced by Nokia for the European market. This mobile phone is packed with useful features, including MMS multimedia messaging, EDGE technology, voice control, FM stereo radio for music on the move, voice memo recorder, speakerphone for hands-free conversations, Java™ capability, and polyphonic ringtones.

Nokia 7200The 7200 has the same TFT active matrix LCD display as used on other Nokia models, and it provides 128 x 128 pixels resolution with support for up to 65,536 colours; this large internal screen is used for viewing video, pictures and menus. There is a second, smaller 96 x 36 pixels external monochrome display that gives the time, and conveniently shows you details of caller ID; there is even an animated screensaver for this external display that matches the phone’s textile cover.

The camera on the Nokia 7200 is of VGA quality camera with 640 x 480 pixels resolution, which can take still pictures or be used to shoot video, and this enables you to send video clips to other compatible MMS phones. You are also able to take pictures and edit them, add graphics and voice or other sound to them, write an appropriate text comment, and then send it all as an MMS message to enhance its impact on the recipient.

A selection of Nokia’s Xpress-on™ changeable covers can be purchased for the Nokia 7200, and these will appeal to users who like their phone to look and feel different to normal, as some unusual suede-like textile covers are available for this model. Customising the phone to your personal taste is also possible with the many downloadable wallpapers, icons, logos, animated screensavers, and ringtones that are available from Nokia and elsewhere. Voice clips can even be used as ringtones, which may be recorded using the phone’s own voice memo recorder.

With its onboard EDGE, GPRS and HSCSD capability, the 7200 is able to perform some very fast data transfer when connected to networks that support this technology. As a result, being EDGE enabled makes it quicker to exchange MMS multimedia messages with compatible devices. The fast data speeds also enhance the benefits you get from the XHTML browser, and this phone allows you to take advantage of the many WAP Internet sites and services that they offer.

As the Nokia 7200 is Java™ enabled, a wide range of Java games and applications are available for running on it, and more Java games and applications can be downloaded as needed. One of the supplied Java applications is a useful e-mail program that allows you to use the phone for normal e-mailing via the standard POP3 and IMAP4 protocols.

When you need to exchange data with other compatible devices, such as computers or PDAs, then the 7200 can provide wireless connectivity via an infrared link; alternatively there is the normal wired connection using the Pop-Port™ connector. With good connectivity you are able to synchronise your personal data and exchange any files you need to use.
