Nokia 8910i mobile phone
Skip contentNokia 8910i is a dual band cameraphone and an updated version of the 8910. Unusually, the outer covers of this phone are made from titanium, and when you need to use it a release mechanism is operated to slide the phone out of its case to reveal the keypad. Amongst several desirable features on this phone is its support for wireless Bluetooth™ connectivity, GPRS and HSCSD technology, WAP browser, MMS multimedia messaging, enabled for Java™ programs, and voice control.
The mobile phone’s colour display is a passive matrix LCD screen with a resolution of 96 x 65 pixels, which can offer support for up to 4096 colours. The display is used to select the menu options, as well as to view any pictures you are sent in MMS messages. During periods of inactivity the display can also show the digital clock screensaver, which comes embedded in the phone.
The Nokia 8910i is capable of exchanging MMS messages with compatible devices, and with this phone you are able to send, forward, and receive messages containing text and graphics. Ringtones, sounds or music cannot be used in MMS messages with this phone and, as there is no integrated camera, any pictures you wish to send in messages must be found from elsewhere. However, you can still personalise the phone with downloadable wallpapers, logos and ringtones.
The 8910i is Java™ enabled, which enhances the phone’s usefulness, as it will run Java programs such as games and various applications for business and personal use. The phone comes preloaded with 2 games, but you are able to download more Java games and applications when you need them, via a WAP site or by linking to a PC.
The high speed data handling using GPRS and HSCSD technology is another useful feature of the Nokia 8910i, and this gives you fast and easy access to the mobile Internet via the phone’s WAP browser. In addition, this phone offers good connectivity via its wireless options of Bluetooth™ or infrared link, and therefore files and data may be exchanged with any PCs, PDAs or other compatible devices that are within range.
