Panasonic X60 mobile phone

Panasonic X60 is a dual band mobile phone and is one of the world’s smallest clamshell style handsets. Its small size and light weight will probably be the features that will attract many buyers to this phone, but it also offers a number of other attractions such as the latest GPRS and WAP technology, a speakerphone for hands-free conversations, MMS multimedia messaging capability, Java™ enabled for games and applications, digital dictaphone recorder, and a choice of polyphonic ringtones.

Panasonic X60There is no external display on this Panasonic X60 model, which is a feature that has become fairly standard on most clamshell phones. However, there is a single internal colour display with a passive LCD screen of 128 x 128 pixels resolution, which is capable of reproducing up to 65,536 different colours.

Although the integrated CMOS camera is fairly basic, it still allows you to take reasonable snaps when you are out and about, and there is the choice of 2 picture qualities. There is also the possibility to adjust exposure levels, with a “twilight mode” for taking pictures in dim light conditions. With the ability to send and receive MMS messages, you can then combine pictures taken with the integrated camera and sounds recorded with the onboard digital recorder, and use these to compose special messages to send to your contacts.

The X60 comes with 10 preloaded polyphonic ringtones, and you have the opportunity to download more if you wish to change them. Also, being Java™ enabled means that you can run Java applications and games on this phone. Only one game comes preloaded, although it is possible to download more games and applications when you want to use something new. As this phone has access to the Vodafone live! portal you can easily download more content and games to the phone.

The GPRS technology gives you an “always on” capability for faster data handling, and you only have to pay for the quantity of information that you actually transfer to or from the phone. With its built-in WAP browser you can also use this phone to access the mobile Internet and to take advantage of the many WAP sites for their diverse range of information and services.

Connectivity is via the X60’s infrared interface, and this enables you to transfer files and exchange data with compatible PCs and PDAs. When you have the need, it is straightforward to synchronise your personal information such as calendar or phonebook entries.
