Samsung SGH-X450 mobile phone

Samsung SGH-X450 is a tri-band clamshell style mobile phone that is suitable for global roaming. This is an attractive small and lightweight model, although it has fewer features than many other Samsung phones, and this seems to be because this phone is aimed at the budget end of the market. Some of the main features included are integrated GPRS and WAP technology, MMS multimedia messaging capability, voice memo recorder, Java™ enabled, active flip, and a good choice of polyphonic ringtones.

Samsung SGH-X450The display is a passive STN (Super Twisted Nematic) type of LCD screen, which Samsung call UFB (Ultra Fine & Bright), and this provides a high-definition display that can produce bright and colourful pictures. There is no second display in this phone, unlike the trend of many recent clamshell designs to include a second screen, and this could prove inconvenient for those who rely on an external display to give them useful information such as the time and caller identity, so you know who the caller is before opening the phone to take the call.

The X450 has MMS capability, which means it is able to send and receive messages containing a combination of pictures, sounds and text. However, with no integrated camera provided you must find your pictures from other messages, or alternatively you might download them over-the-air or from some other source such as a PC. Nevertheless, the integrated memo recorder does allow you to make sound recordings, and these can be attached to MMS messages.

The Java™ enabled capability of this phone allows you to run a wide range of useful Java applications and games. There are 4 Java games already embedded in the phone, but more games as well as new applications can be downloaded when you need them. The X450 uses high quality polyphonic ringtones, and there is another option that you have to download new ringtones when you want to change the way the phone sounds.

With its integrated GPRS technology you are provided with fast data transfer to connect to the local network, and this also means you have fast access to the mobile Internet and the chance to use the phone’s WAP browser. With the constant growth of new sources of information, and better Web-based services, your phone can now offer you an endless supply of news, sports, travel information, weather, entertainment, stock market prices, and more while you are travelling about your daily routine.

The only connectivity option available on the X450 is by a data cable to compatible devices such as a PC or PDA. Once connected you have the possibility to exchange information or files with the other device, and you can then also synchronise your phonebook details and daily schedule data.
