Sharp GX10 mobile phone
Skip contentSharp GX10 is a dual band cameraphone with a clamshell style format, and this model provides several useful features, including GPRS and WAP technology, MMS multimedia messaging, voice memo recorder, a selection of polyphonic ringtones, and it is also Java™ enabled for games and applications.
There are dual LCD displays in the Sharp GX10. The large internal screen has a resolution of 120 x 160 pixels, with the possibility of displaying up to 65,536 different colours, and this screen provides a bright and colourful means to view pictures, menus or play games. The external display is a monochrome screen, and this enables you to see who is calling, as well as what new messages you have.
An integrated CMOS digital camera is provided in the Sharp GX10, and this offers a useful, but not remarkable, resolution of 110k pixels. Among the camera features is a 2x digital zoom for close-ups, three pictures sizes, a range of exposure settings for dark or bright conditions, and it also includes a timer and mirror for self-portraits. The mobile phone can store up to 80 digital pictures.
This phone is capable of communicating MMS multimedia messages, which means you can create, send and receive messages combining colour pictures, animation, sound and text. It is also possible to add some personalisation to this phone by downloading new wallpapers, logos and screensavers, or you can even customise the screen with your own pictures as wallpaper.
For those who like to hear tunes when the phone rings, the GX10 can play 16 chord polyphonic ringtones, and you can even compose your own using the sophisticated Melody Editor or Tone Editor software included. In addition, it is possible to download more ringtones if the choice provided does not satisfy you. There is a guide to the Melody Editor at www.sharp-mobile.com.
Another significant feature of the Sharp GX10 is that it is Java™ enabled, and so you are able to run a range of Java games and applications. There are 3 games preloaded in this model, but you can download more games and new applications when you feel like a change, and you can search among the many available applications to see if there is something that will help you for personal use or at work.
The provision of GPRS and WAP capability in this phone gives you access to the mobile Internet, and the ability to surf the Web. GPRS is a technology that provides fast link up to the network services, and an "always on" connection, where you pay for the actual data you use rather than the length of time you are connected. The Internet opens greater possibilities for downloading more pictures, sounds, ringtones, games, etc, and you also have access to the latest news, sports and weather information through Vodafone Live!
The GX10 also has the benefit of good connectivity, being able to link up with a PC, PDA or other compatible device using its wireless infrared port, or via its standard RS232 data cable connection. Once connected, you have the opportunity to synchronise your schedule and phonebook information, and make the most of your phone's personal or business potential.
