Siemens S55 mobile phone

Siemens S55 is a tri-band mobile phone, suitable for global roaming. Features included in this phone are its support for Bluetooth™ wireless technology, MMS multimedia messaging, Java™ enabled, voice memo recorder, speakerphone for hands-free conversations, voice control, full e-mail client service, and polyphonic ringtones.

Siemens S55The display on the Siemens S55 is a 101 x 80 pixels resolution screen that supports up to 256 different colours. Using the phone’s screen you are able to select options from amongst the animated menus, and to view the pictures you have received or are preparing to send yourself.

There is no integrated camera included, although the plug in QuickPic IQP-500 camera with built-in flash is available as an optional accessory. With this accessory the Siemens S55 becomes fully equipped as an MMS cameraphone.

Since the Siemens S55 is Java™ enabled you can run a wide variety of games and applications on this phone. One Java™ game comes preloaded; however, you can always download more games and applications when you get bored with the old ones, or if you find you need to use some particular program for pleasure or business use.

The S55 also has fast data transfer with its “always on” GPRS technology, and using the WAP browser you are able to access a wide range of WAP-based services that are available on the mobile Internet. The e-mail engine provided also allows you to use the normal e-mail system including the standard protocols of POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP.

You have a choice of several ways to connect with the Siemens S55: you can use the wireless options of Bluetooth™ or an infrared link. However, you also have the old-fashioned but reliable method of connecting by serial or USB data cables. Whatever your preferred method of connection, you can exchange files and data between the phone and compatible devices such as PDAs or PC, and it is possible to synchronise all your contacts and schedules – Microsoft Outlook™ is supported.
