Cameraphones - Exposure adjustment
Skip contentThe controls are usually very limited on cameraphones, as compared to a standard digital camera. There is usually little or no control over the means to adjust apertures, shutter speeds or focus on these cameraphones, and exposure adjustment is often little more than the means to alter the level of brightness or contrast to get the best balance in the photograph for the given light conditions.
Some cameras have a low light or “night mode” setting, which uses a slower shutter speed to allow extra light to reach the sensor, and this should enable the user to capture a more acceptably exposed photograph in poor light conditions. Some cameraphones can also compensate for certain types of lighting, having settings such as “outdoors” for sunlight, or “indoors” to adjust for the otherwise too-orange tint of light bulbs in a room.
