Cameraphones - Memory
Skip contentMemory capacity is an important consideration when using cameraphones, as it will be with any digital camera. Taking lots of photographs will soon use up all of the phone’s available memory, and it should be realised that a single VGA quality picture, even using data compression, will occupy a file size of about 50 kB. As most phones have fixed memories, memory capacity could prove to be a serious limitation on how many shots can be saved, before you need to start deleting or downloading them to make room for more photos.
The best solution to this potential problem is to buy a cameraphone with a memory card slot, and you will then have available an expandable capacity to store almost unlimited numbers of photographs. The memory card option puts the cameraphone user into an equivalent position to the traditional digital camera user, where memory cards are the standard method for storing and transferring photographs.
